Wasing Park Wedding Photographer.
Tucked away in the Berkshire countryside near Aldermaston, Wasing Park is one of the most beautiful barn wedding venues in the South East. With its peaceful woodland setting, the stunning Church of St Nicholas, and the characterful Castle Barn, it offers couples a wedding day that feels both elegant and wonderfully relaxed.
As a Wasing Park wedding photographer, I love venues where everything flows naturally across the day and Wasing Park does this beautifully. I always enjoy the quiet moments during morning preparations at St Kitts cottage & the way excitement builds when the wedding party move to the magnificent honeymoon suite.
Civil ceremonies in the light & airy garden room work so well with the canapes & drink reception happening on the lawns adjacent to it. The chapel like church of St Nicholas is so pretty & just outside of its gates is a gorgeous location for confetti walks. When it comes to golden-hour portraits you really are spoilt for choice in the estate grounds, if you time it right the way the light hits the Victorian Summerhouse is sublime. But my absolute personal favourite evening location for portraits is at the top of the long drive.
Castle barn works so well with round or long tables dressed for wedding receptions & I always enjoy photographing & watching couples walk around it mesmerised & sometimes quite emotional at how it looks after the venue team & florists have worked their magic & brought their visions to life ! I particularly love the way the tealights twinkle in the walls.
I’ve photographed several weddings here already, and every one has had its own unique atmosphere, but they all share the same feeling of warmth, relaxed celebration, and fun !
I live a short 15 minute drive from Wasing Park & that means I can stay later without being worried about a long drive home !
Why Wasing Park is Such a Special Wedding Venue.
There’s something very special about the way weddings unfold at Wasing Park. The estate feels private and peaceful, tucked away among woodland and parkland, yet it’s so easily accessible from London and across Berkshire.
I think that couples are drawn to Wasing Park because it offers so many beautiful spaces within one venue & it has 26 rooms onsite in which up to 64 guests can stay !
Some of the highlights include:
- The Church of St Nicholas, a stunning historic church just a short walk from the barn.
- Outdoor ceremonies in front of the Victorian summerhouse.
- The Castle Barn, with its dramatic beams and romantic candlelit atmosphere.
- The Garden Room, perfect for relaxed civil ceremonies.
- Beautiful estate grounds that are ideal for couple portraits and confetti moments
It’s one of those venues where everything feels thoughtfully designed for weddings, it’s elegantly stylish while still retaining a natural countryside charm.
My Approach to Wedding Photography at Wasing Park.

Speaking as a wedding photographer, honestly Wasing Park is a joy to work at. The venue has incredible variety visually, from soft natural light during the day to dramatic evening lighting around the grounds & inside the barn.
My approach here is to capture the day naturally as it unfolds, including photographs of;
- Genuine laughter & candid moments of fun during morning preparations.
- Emotional moments during the ceremony, expressions of your family & friends watching in the background.
- Relaxed couple & group portraits around the grounds.
- Candid & fun photography of your drinks reception & all those in between moments.
- The atmosphere and energy of the evening celebrations.
I’ll guide you gently when needed, but most of the time I’m simply observing and documenting the real moments that make your wedding unique.
We will have chatted about your vision for your Wasing park wedding photohgraphy & we might set up some off camera flash for twilight portraits, we might plan a champagne spray or sparkler group phoot or it might just be all about those relaxed personal portraits during golden hour in a quiet corner of the estate. Whatever the plan is, it’ll be fun, relaxed & very much personal to you.

Some Tips for Planning a Wasing Park Wedding.
Having experience of photographing weddings at Wasing Park, I know the venue well and how the day typically flows from the quiet anticipation of the morning preparations through to the energy of the evening celebrations in the Castle Barn. Here are some of my my top tips to help a Wasing park wedding run smoothly.
Think of your morning prep as a two sesssions.
Relaxed candid style moments captured at Kitts (Bridal) cottage. Think PJ group photos, gift exchanges & fun.
Your more formal portraits of hair & makeup, getting into the dress, special moments with family, reveals to your parents & or wedding party & details are all best photographed in the honeymoon suite.
Remember though you only have 2 hours before your ceremony in the honeymoon suite !
Groom prep at Home farmhouse.
If you’d like photos both here & of the prep at Kitts (Bridal) cottage I’d recommend having two photographers due to the distance. Wasing Park is spread out over 4,000 acres so allow time for travel between the locations.
Or you could set up to have some photographs in the stables bar & lounge while the other wedding party are moving over to the honeymoon suite from Kitts (Bridal) Cottage ?
St Nicholas Church.
It is a small parish church & has a single narrow aisle. You may need to consider your dress choice carefully if you choose to have your ceremony here.
If you are planning a large wedding party plan your aisle walk timings carefully & leave enough room in the pews at the front for them all.
If they can step back from the pew end as you arrive at the end of the aisle your photographer will thank you !
Be prepared that your photographer may have to work from the rear of the church during your ceremony if it’s too crowded at the front.
If budget allows for a flower arch around the doorway, it will work beautifully for your photos & the arch could always be repurposed in the castle barn as a backdrop for the top table after your ceremony.
Group portrait locations.
Depending on weather & sun direction I recommend group portraits on the steps in front of the Castle Barn or in the gardens at the back in front of the Victorian Summerhouse.
Remember to allow enough time for your reception room reveal during your drinks reception.
It’s important, you’ve meticulously planned how all of this will look & now you’ll get to see it for the very first time !
Make time for your evening portraits in the grounds.
The estate has some gorgeous locations where the golden light hits beautifully & if it does, you’ll get some amazing portraits. Allow some time for you & your photographer to work together to create something special.
This time will also give you some space to reflect on the day so far, together & alone from your guests.
If the timing works, stepping away for just 10 minutes during sunset can create some incredible images.
Real Weddings I’ve Photographed at Wasing Park.
Each Wasing park wedding has its own unique story.
From elegant church ceremonies followed by candlelit barn receptions, to outdoor drinks receptions on warm summer afternoons, it’s a venue that adapts beautifully to each couple’s vision.
Some of my favourite moments I’ve photographed here include:
• Confetti moments outside the church doors
• Quiet couple portraits in the woodland paths & the victorian summerhouse.
• Emotional reveals in the honeymoon suite with both bridesmaids & parents !
You can read about them on my blog like Jess & Jamie’s here
Oh my gosh, where do I even start?!
Emma was absolutely amazing throughout our whole Wasing wedding planning experience and most importantly on the day, the photos we received were absolutely amazing and cannot thank her enough for everything. She made us feel so comfortable and relaxed taking our photos and was patient even when we were running late and I was getting stressed!!
Highly highly recommend Emma, wish we could do it all over again ❤️
