Spring Garden Outdoor Wedding.
There’s something really special about early spring weddings… that moment when everything starts to naturally look a little brighter & Claire & Luke’s day at The Wellington Arms in Hook, Hampshire was exactly that, fresh, relaxed, and full of quiet, happy moments.
It was the last week in March & their outdoor ceremony in the rose garden enjoyed beautiful Spring sunshine complimenting the soft sage tones of their colour scheme.
A Love Story That Started Online (and Led to Devon Sunshine).
Claire & Luke first met online back in 2019.
Fast forward a few years, and Luke proposed on Claire’s 30th birthday during a trip to Devon. Just the two of them in the sunshine, a moment that felt completely natural to them both.
Why They Chose The Wellington Arms in Hook
Claire & Luke were drawn to this gem of a countryside venue it for its:

- Beautiful garden ceremony space
They chose to marry in the rose garden, surrounded by soft greenery and spring blooms, so simple, natural, and incredibly romantic.

Claire’s fishtail lace dress added just the right amount of elegance, while still feeling relaxed and true to her. This wedding was countryside glam in a soft, cohesive, and timeless way.
It was my 3rd wedding at this relaxed country vibe venue & their outdoor ceremony was a delight to photograph !
An Outdoor Ceremony Full of Meaning
Their ceremony in the rose garden was full of personal touches.
They had two live singers performing during the day, including singing for Claire’s walk down the aisle which added such a beautiful atmosphere right from the start.
They also chose to write their own vows, which always brings a different kind of emotion to a ceremony. There’s something about hearing personal words, in your own voices as part of your wedding ceremony that becomes utterly unforgettable.
Their three children excitedly watched as they said their I do’s & their youngest insisted on staying up front in between them for their entire ceremony. His face was a picture !
A Sparkler Send-Off!
As the evening settled in, their guests lined the path, lighting up the night with a tunnel of warm, flickering light with their sparklers. Creating an opportunity for photos & moments that feels a little bit magical and a little bit chaotic in the best way. There was a lot of giggling as Claire & Luke made their way through their guests, It was a joyful way to round off a day that had felt relaxed, happy and completely them from start to finish.
A Day That Felt Easy (and Full of Smiles).
When I asked Claire & Luke about their favourite part of the day, their answer was simple:
“The whole day was perfect… everyone was smiling all day long.”
No pressure. No overthinking. Just being present, enjoying their people, and letting the day unfold.
Their first dance was to “Amazed” by Shaun Filan.
They’d practised a little at home beforehand (which I always recommend just to feel more relaxed), but on the day it flowed beautifully with everyone watching just the two of them in their own little bubble for a few minutes.
Wedding Planning Advice from Claire & Luke;
“Book everything you both want. Don’t stress over the small things… on the day you don’t even realise if anything goes slightly wrong. The day goes so fast so make sure you have some time just the two of you.”
Honestly, I couldn’t agree more.
