Adam & Chloe’s Cambridge Cottage Spring wedding.

Spring wedding at Cambridge Cottage

Adam & Chloe chose cosy Cambridge Cottage for their Spring wedding after spending one of their first ‘big dates’ together visiting Kew gardens.

Chloe & Adam met during their University years. Chloe was attending her first year of her fine art degree, while Adam who was at University in Wales, came to London for the first time ever to embark on a year-long internship. As fate would have it they met each other in a coffee shop and began chatting. Soon they went on their first few dates which included a visit to Kew gardens. After briefly returning to university in Wales, Adam reurned to Chloe and London where they have spent seven happy years together.

It was during a dream holiday in Miami where Adam popped the question and a few months later….

Chloe got ready at the nearby Coach & Horses hotel with her bridesmaid Georgie. Chloe’s hair & make up was created by Carla Crawford (@carlamua75 on insta).

After trying on the first wedding dress Chloe knew instantly that it was the perfect one for her. Attached to her bouquet on the wedding day was a small hand-made charm with a picture of her beloved childhood cat, Maggie, who passed away. It was important to Chloe to have a reminder of Maggie on the day.

To match the dusty pink theme of their wedding day, a dusty pink tie and pocket square accessorized Adam & the groomsmen’s suits & for Georgie the perfect bridesmaid’s dress !

Mark from Palette Events  created Chloe’s bouquet, the button holes & venue flower decor using seasonal blooms to compliment their Spring wedding theme at Cambridge Cottage.

Happy tears & personal vows..

Chloe & Adam had opted for one of my petit packages in keeping with their cute elopement style wedding. So I met them both at Cambridge Cottage & began the photographic storytelling of their intimate wedding day just before their  ceremony.

I had just a few moments with Adam, his two best men, ushers & Chloe’s dad Derek before Chloe arrived at Cambridge Cottage to a light April shower (lucky on your wedding day apparently).

After a bit of a nervous wait for Adam, Chloe & her dad walked up the aisle in the gorgeous drawing room at Cambridge cottage to music played by their harpist from Prelude Entertainment

Their civil ceremony was perfectly personalised with each of them reading to each other, the vows that they’d written. Cue lots of happy tears by them & their family & friends !

Due to the exotic botanics housed within the greenhouses & grounds of Kew gardens, confetti can’t be thrown. So after their ceremony Adam & Chloe walked into the secluded Duke’s garden through a cascade of bubbles!

Afternoon tea & a ride around Kew gardens…

Before their afternoon tea style reception, Adam & Chloe & I were driven in a golf buggy around the botanical gardens at Kew by Paula from the events team. During the half an hour that we had, we managed to visit the cherry tree walk, the Palm House glasshouse & the Nash Observatory.

During the ride, Adam & Chloe were congratulated so many times by the wonderful visitors to Kew that day.

The buggy ride around the botanical gardens was one of the days highlights for Adam & Chloe. We were all nervous about the unpredicable weather forecast but every time we stopped for a photo, the sun shone brightly.

After our photoshoot, it was back to Cambridge cottage for afternoon tea & speeches by Chloe’s dad Derek,  Adam & best man Rowan. Thankfully we just missed being out in the shower of hailstones & heavy rain !

Palette events also organised the catering, tableware & decor for Adam & Chloe’s wedding. The delicious afternoon tea was served to guests with a personal soundtrack playing in the background compiled by Chloe & Adam including their favourite love song LOVE by Nat King Cole.

My coverage of this gorgeous intimate Spring wedding day concluded with Chloe & Adam cutting their delicious wedding cake to claps & cheers before their guests also got the opportunity to enjoy the botanical gardens in glorious evening sunshine.

I can personally vouch for the cake deliciousness, Chloe & Adam insisted I took some home, enough for me & my family !

Chloe’s wedding tip ” Have a seating plan for the ceremony! Don’t always assume you’ll be around to shepherd people where they need to go…”

Chloe & Adam found me on Bridebook & chose me as their wedding photographer because they loved my natural style and how I capture key moments. Chloe said “Each of your photos tell an organic story and I love that.”

What was your favourite part of your day & why ?

The buggy ride around the Kew grounds ended up being a highlight of the day by itself. With the beautiful ceremony as well it’s genuinely hard to think about any part of the day and not feel overwhelmed with joy.
