Intimate weddings, elopements and small celebrations.
Micro weddings in Berkshire are becoming an increasingly popular way for couples to celebrate in a more relaxed and personal way. Not every wedding needs to be a full-day celebration with 100 guests.
Some of the most meaningful weddings I photograph are smaller, quieter celebrations with a handful of loved ones and a couple who simply want to mark the moment in a way that feels true to them.
Micro weddings, registry ceremonies and elopements have a very different rhythm to a traditional wedding day. They’re often more relaxed, more personal and full of genuine emotions because the focus stays exactly where it should be on the two of you.
As a Berkshire wedding photographer, I offer shorter coverage designed specifically for these kinds of weddings. There will be enough time to include capturing the ceremony, a few relaxed portraits and those lovely in-between moments with family.
If you’re planning a small wedding in Berkshire, whether that’s a registry ceremony at Reading Town Hall or an intimate celebration with close family, shorter photography coverage can work beautifully.

Reading Town Hall Weddings.
Reading Town Hall is one of the most popular places for registry weddings in Berkshire, and it’s somewhere I photograph regularly.
The historic building, spacious ceremony room and beautiful light make it a lovely setting for an intimate ceremony.
I’ve photographed couples here who travelled from all over the world to celebrate their marriage in a small but meaningful way including recent weddings where guests came from the Philippines, Brazil and Poland to witness the ceremony.
For couples planning a registry wedding here, my 2-hour micro wedding coverage works perfectly. It usually includes:
• the ceremony
• confetti or exit moments
• relaxed couple portraits around the Town Hall
• a few family photos
• candid moments with guests
Even with a shorter timeline, these weddings can produce a really beautiful, emotional gallery.
Smaller Berkshire Wedding Venues.
Alongside registry ceremonies, I’ve noticed recently that many couples are choosing smaller venues for intimate celebrations.
These weddings might include:
• Less than 40 guests
• A short personal ceremony
• Afternoon tea or dinner with close family
• A relaxed afternoon celebration without an afterparty.
Some lovely smaller venues around Berkshire and the Chilterns include:
-
Stanlake Park Wine Estate – a beautiful vineyard setting.
-
Warbrook House – perfect for elegant smaller gatherings.
-
The Retreat at Elcot Park– quirky country hotel that specialises in laid back luxury.
These venues allow couples to keep their celebration simple, relaxed and focused on the people who matter most. You can also explore more Berkshire wedding venues I regularly photograph in my venue guide.
Elopements & Intimate Weddings.
Elopements are becoming increasingly popular with couples who want something quiet, meaningful, private & personal.
Sometimes that means:
• Just the two of you.
• A couple of witnesses.
• A short ceremony with personal vows, followed by portraits somewhere beautiful.
These weddings have a lovely pace to them. Without the pressure of a big schedule, couples can simply enjoy every single moment and each other.
My approach to smaller weddings stays the same as it would for any wedding with natural, relaxed photography that quietly captures the day as it unfolds.
We had a very small wedding, just 20 guests. She captured lots of special moments, and accurately everyone’s expression and character. Each photo had its own story, and was beautifully composed. We are truly thankful to her for sharing our day with us and giving us a collection of photos that will remind us for a lifetime. If you are looking for a photographer for your wedding or any special event, I would highly, massively recommend her.
Micro Wedding Photography Coverage.
For smaller weddings and registry ceremonies, I offer shorter photography coverage designed specifically for these kinds of celebrations.
This allows couples to have professional photography of the moments that are most important to them without needing to book me for a full day.
Micro wedding coverage typically includes:
• 2 hours of photography
• Ceremony coverage
• Relaxed couple portraits
• Small group photos
• Candid inbetween moments with guests
• A beautiful secure online gallery to share with family
